DCA's social, economic and cultural impact - a new study

We are delighted to publish a study highlighting DCA's impact.

We’re delighted to share a new study outlining Dundee Contemporary Arts’s social, cultural and economic impact over the past ten years. Featuring detailed research, interviews with artists, audiences and stakeholders, and comprehensive analysis, the report makes clear that DCA delivers significant impact for artists, audiences and communities in Dundee and beyond.

Key Findings

  • DCA generates net annual economic impact of £5.1m, equating to £2.6m in Gross Value Added (GVA)
  • DCA supports 121 Full-Time equivalent jobs in the local economy, with over 50% of organisational spending retained within Dundee
  • 97% of survey respondents cited DCA as their main reason for visiting Dundee city centre
  • DCA’s schools engagement reaches all ranks of Scotland’s indices of Multiple Deprivation, including those in the most socio-economically  deprived areas in Scotland
