New films from Fri 2 October
See what's on, including Digger, Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie, Manhunter and more
Big swings hit DCA Cinema this week: Tom Cruise and Alejandro G Iñárritu are coming in hot with wild, Kubrickian comedy Digger.
Cruise steps into a mountain of prosthetics and a Texan swagger as a crusty oilman trying to save the world from a climate crisis he created. The star-studded film has sparked fierce debate over its humour, intentions and twists, and you have to see it to believe it (and decide for yourself!).
We also have the powerful documentary Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie, about the author's recovery and belief in freedom of expression, and Dundee's own Brian Cox still chills to the bone as Hannibal in the Final Cut of crime masterpiece Manhunter, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 4K.
Plus, the beautiful new Sense and Sensibility continues, Manipulate Artscelebrates Scotland's ever-evolving independent animation scene with a dazzling in-competition programme, Così fan tutte comes to us live from the Met, RSA200presents a showcase of moving image work by Royal Scottish Academicians from the past 20 years, and the MCU's finest are back on screen with Avengers: Endgame Encore.
