Enjoy family films

Get set for a trip into space with Mario, Peach and Luigi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Packed with exciting action, family-friendly comedy and fun new characters, this sequel to 2023 hit The Super Mario Bros Movie is a fantastic cinema experience, showing at DCA from Fri 3 April.

If you love animation, don't miss April's Discovery Family Film Club: Lola and the Sound Piano + Shorts Celebrating Diversity, a programme of four beautiful short films exploring the importance of connection and understanding between young friends.

We'll also be showing Disney Pixar comedy Hoppers as a treat for the end of the holidays, from Fri 17 – Sun 19 April. This animated tale sees a teen girl 'hop' her consciousness into a robot beaver in order to make friends with wild animals. Tickets coming soon!

You're welcome to bring your own cold snacks and drinks into the cinema, or you can treat yourself to popcorn, ice cream or sweets at our Box Office concession stand on the Ground Floor. You can bring drinks from Jute Café Bar into the cinema too!

There's a very different film experience in Centrespace on Sat 18 April. Touch Screen: Light and Colour is an interactive film experience exploring how light and colour shape what we see and feel. Short films are brought to life through immersive projection and gentle sensory play. It is particularly suited to disabled audiences, SEND families and sensory-seeking young people.

Explore and get creative

Our relaxed Create Space is open every day (except Thu 16 April) – you can drop-in to sessions featuring activities such as motion drawing, recycled material sculptures, watercolours and drawing games, with a member of the Learning team on hand to assist the making. We've also made some of our creative art activities inspired by the exhibition available to download, so you can print out at home to brighten up a rainy afternoon.

Discover our exhibition We Contain Multitudes, filled with colourful hanging sculptures, prints, paintings and more. We've got a fun Follow and Find map with prompts to help you look, think and draw along the way. The exhibition is open every day except Mondays.

Looking after a baby?

If you're caring for a baby under 12 months, don't forget we also have weekly Bring a Baby screenings, where you can come and enjoy one of the best new films along with tea or coffee and a biscuit. There's space for prams and wriggly little ones, and a peaceful feeding and changing space if you need it. We're always happy to welcome in new film fans and their wee ones!

DCA is also proud to be home to Breast Buddies Dundee, a free, drop-in session for mums and mums-to-be to come along with their bumps and babies and socialise, meet new friends and get breastfeeding and infant feeding support.
