  • Select a time to view seat availability

Local textile maker Syrah Jay is well known for her colourful pieces of statement, hand-felted jewellery. Alongside felt, Syrah works with alternative materials including concrete, cork, wood and most recently jesmonite, to create unique and wearable items such as chunky necklaces, bangles and earrings. Having been a maker for well over a decade, Syrah is full of top tips and skills on techniques and hot jewellery trends.

Jesmonite is an eco-friendly, non-toxic casting material popular with lots of makers for its versatility and wide range of colours. Having bought a kit at the beginning of lockdown, Syrah has spent the last two years experimenting with techniques, developing her own silicone moulds, and creating a range of bespoke jewellery.

Join her for an afternoon learning about terrazzo and marbling effects, casting, sanding and playing with colour to make your very own pieces to wear and impress your friends and family. As always we'll have plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and chat to help fuel your making.
