Gabriel Chaile

A major solo exhibition by Argentinian artist Gabriel Chaile, whose practice explores memory, migration, identity and the transmission of histories through materials, objects and form. Chaile draws on the cultural traditions of north-west Argentina, creating anthropomorphic sculptures and installations from adobe, clay and organic materials. 

Chaile’s practice brings ancestral knowledge into dialogue with contemporary experience, tracing what he describes as a “genealogy of form”: the movement of shapes and symbols across generations and geographies. His work invites us to look at objects not simply as things, but as vessels for memory and connection. His sculptures become monuments, meeting places and storytellers, offering a poetic way of considering how identities are formed, transformed and remembered across generations and geographies.
