Trackie McLeod
Opening April 2027, we're excited to be showing a major new solo show of Glasgow based artist Trackie McLeod, whose work explores the memories, humour and the visual language of his Scottish roots. Drawing on his working-class upbringing in Whiteinch during the late 1990s and early 2000s, McLeod reflects on the people, places and social codes that shape identity and belonging.
Across sculpture, textiles, print, sound and found objects, McLeod brings together contemporary folk traditions and popular cultural references, alongside explorations of masculinity, queerness, class and politics. Witty, nostalgic and unmistakably Scottish, McLeod’s work transforms everyday experiences into artworks that connect the personal with the universal.
Artist Biography
Trackie McLeod is a Scottish artist based in Glasgow. Trackie uses sculpture, textiles, video and print to explore his lived experience. He is interested in ideas of masculinity and queerness and their intersection with class, politics and popular culture. His visual language is innately Scottish, describing it as “one part tongue-in-cheek, an ounce of sarcasm and a pint of Tennent’s lager."
