More tricks and treats for Dundead Halloween

We've added even more films for spooky season

October is approaching and so is Dundead Halloween! We've shared an exciting programme of events, films and surprises for the season and you've already been snapping up tickets and Dundead Halloween Passes.

But we're not stopping there...we're delighted to share the addition of a very exciting 4K release of a previously banned vintage title and a newly restored short film. Read on to find out more - if you dare!

The Devils (4K Restoration)

Censored for more than half a century, Ken Russell’s visionary and controversial The Devils returns to UK cinemas and we're thrilled to be screening it on Fri 30 October to kick off Halloween weekend.

This new 4K restoration was cut to Russell’s direction and marks the first time Russell’s defining masterpiece has been made officially accessible to the public.

Inspired by the true story of 17th-century priest Urbain Grandier, who was accused of bewitching a convent of nuns, the film lays bare the collusion of church and state. Watch the new trailer for it here, but be warned: it's not for everyone and contains flashing lights or patterns that may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy.

Tickets go on sale at 10:00 on Fri 25 September. If you book (or have already booked) a Dundead Halloween Pass, you can get a ticket to The Devils for £8 (£7.50 for Members) - add it to your basket and the discount will be applied at check out. Season's Greetings

As an extra treat on Halloween itself, we've paired short film Season's Greetings with our screening of The Omen.

Written and directed by Michael Dougherty (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), this is the animated short film that introduced the world to Sam, the mysterious trick-or-treater who would later become a modern horror icon in Dougherty's 2007 anthology Trick 'r Treat.

Now restored in 4K with remastered 5.1 audio for its 30th Anniversary, Season’s Greetings preserves the charm of its original 16mm presentation while inviting audiences to experience Sam as he first appeared.
