Create Space

See, think, make, do

For autumn 2020, Create Space has moved to Gallery 1 to make sure there's plenty of space for you to try out fun, free creative activities inspired by Stuart Whipps' exhibition. Book your free tickets and come along to ‘see, think, make and do’ with us.

SEE: a display of work made by local community groups, including ST/ART@DCA with our partners Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust, DCA Young Photo Club, and Art at the Start, our PhD research programme in collaboration with University of Dundee.

THINK: about Stuart Whipps' exhibition and the artist’s ideas. We have an alphabet theme, a beautiful display of plants and a cheerful, socially distanced seating area so families can sit and spend time together safely.

MAKE: together as a family by picking up one of our pre-packed Art Activity Packs, inspired by the exhibition. We have a Wee Ones Pack for 0-3 year olds and Family Packs for school-age and older children. Each pack contains materials and activity sheets that you can use in Create Space or take home. Have a go at exploring plant names and shapes, create a plant alphabet, imagine garden designs and make up stories.

DO: a positive thing and create an artwork, story or poem and leave it in Create Space for our Say Hello with Art project. We are partnering with Dundee Pensioners Forum to send cheerful messages with art to older, more isolated folk.

Create Space and the Activity Packs are supported by Art Fund.
