  • Select a time to view seat availability

This special event with Ghibliotheque follows our screening of Whisper of the Heart, and a Ghibliotheque book signing.

You can book your ticket for this event online, and if you'd also like to buy the Ghibliotheque book (RRP £20) for the discounted bundle price of £22, just add the book to your basket during checkout (it will come up as a recommended item). Books can be collected from Box Office on the day of the event.

Over the last three years, Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham have been venturing deep into the glorious world of Studio Ghibli on their podcast Ghibliotheque. After 50-plus episodes, they have covered every major Studio Ghibli release, interviewed Ghibli collaborators (Michael Dudok de Wit) and cheerleaders (Helen McCarthy, Jonathan Ross), and even travelled to Japan for the ultimate Ghibli pilgrimage. Now, they're coming to DCA Cinema to share what they have learned. Expect insights, trivia titbits, crackpot theories and more in this guide to the world's greatest animation studio.

“Expect insights, trivia titbits, crackpot theories and more”

Described by The Guardian as "an ideal podcast for Ghibli novices and superfans alike", Ghibliotheque has now leapt out of the earbuds and onto the printed page for the lavishly-illustrated hardback Ghibliotheque - The Unofficial Guide to the Films of Studio Ghibli, which charts the world-conquering rise of Studio Ghibli film-by-film, from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind to Earwig and the Witch, by way of My Neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and more. Jake and Michael will have signed copies of their book available for purchase after the screening of Whisper of the Heart and after this performance of the Ghibli A-Z.
