Enhance your visit to Discovery Film Festival!
Join a workshop, visit the galleries and enjoy a space for lunch
We're delighted that for the second year running, we’re making Discovery Film Festival free, removing barriers to attendance and ensuring that all children can experience the magic of cinema at DCA. Bus travel is also free for Dundee schools.
You can enhance your visit to the festival by engaging with a creative workshop or visiting our galleries and we have spaces available to reserve so your class can eat their packed lunches.
Workshops
In addition to your film screening, we can offer a range of CfE-linked creative, expressive film education workshops: you join us after Mary Anning for activities relating to the film - think fossils and searching; be inspired by the world and colours of Papaya; or take inspiration from the short films.
If you'd like to book any of the workshops, please indicate your preference on the enquiry form. Please note, there are maximum capacities for all the workshops.
Gallery Tours
We'd love to welcome you and your class to a gallery visit and creative art making session. Our current exhibition France-Lise McGurn: The Charm Offensive, sees the artist's expansive paintings spill out from the canvases directly onto the walls and floors, creating a vibrant and inspiring encounter with contemporary art.
Please mark the box on our enquiry form if you'd like to request that you enhance your visit with a gallery tour.
Need a spot for lunch?
We have a various areas in the building that are suitable for your class to eat their packed lunches in. These are available to reserve, please just check the box on the enquiry form if this is something you'd like. Please note, while we will do our best to accommodate requests, we can't guarantee availability.
The visit for us was not just an incredible opportunity to engage with films from across the world, it was an opportunity to be introduced to the creative sector, fuelling their ambition..."
